Before there was a business, there was this kitchen.
Every designer has a "spark" project, and for me, it was my own kitchen. What began as a dark, dysfunctional space became a multi-year labor of love that ultimately defined my design career. I took the lead on the architectural layout, focusing on maximizing flow and light, and acted as the general contractor—performing everything from the initial demolition to the final drywall.
While I handled the structural vision and physical build, I collaborated with Julia of Little by Little to curate a sophisticated palette of finishes and hardware that brought the space to life. To top it off, my husband and I custom-built the vent hood to ensure every detail met our exact aesthetic. Today, the kitchen stands as a testament to the power of "sweat equity" and the beauty of collaborative design.
