Do you service Portland and Seattle?
Yes, we're based in Portland, Oregon and serve the greater Portland metro area and greater Seattle area. Full-service remodel, furnishing, and outdoor living projects are available in both markets. Design consultations are available in the Portland metro area only.
Are you an interior designer or decorator?
An interior designer handles the full scope of a space: space planning, floor plans, material and finish selections, furniture sourcing, and project coordination. A decorator typically focuses on styling and accessorizing a space that's already been designed and built. At Rediger Design we handle both the design and the details.
When should I hire an interior designer?
The sooner the better. For remodel projects, bringing a designer in before you talk to a contractor means every decision is made intentionally before construction begins. For furnishing projects, starting early gives you the best chance of finishing on your timeline since furniture lead times can be longer than most people expect.
How do I know if full service design is right for me?
If you want someone to handle the entire process from start to finish, full service is the right fit. We take care of everything from concept through installation and you stay informed on the decisions that matter. If you're not ready for a full project, a design consultation may be a good starting point.
Do you offer virtual design services?
We don't currently offer virtual design services. Our process is hands-on and in-person, which is what allows us to do our best work. If you're outside our service area and looking for virtual design support, we're happy to point you toward trusted designers who specialize in that.
How much does it cost to hire an interior designer?
It depends on the scope of your project. We charge flat design fees based on the type of project and number of rooms or spaces involved. Fees vary based on scope, market, and complexity. Do you have a project minimum?
We don't have a set project minimum. Whether you're furnishing a single room or planning a whole-home renovation, we'll create a proposal that's right-sized for your project and goals.
Do you work with existing furniture?
Yes. We work with what you have and build around it. If you have pieces you love we incorporate them into the design. If something isn't working we'll tell you honestly. The goal is a space that feels cohesive and complete, not a blank slate.
