Outdoor Living Design
Greater Portland Area
A well-designed outdoor space works like any other room, it just happens to be outside.
We handle the furniture plan, textiles, lighting, potted plants, and the finishing touches that make it feel like a true extension of your home.
For larger projects we work alongside your landscaper or general contractor so nothing gets lost between the design and the build.
How It Works
INITIAL DISCOVERY CALL
Every project starts with a free 30-minute call to talk through your project, goals, and timeline. No commitment required.
1
IN-HOME VISIT
From there, an in-person walkthrough of your outdoor space is scheduled. Measurements are taken, your vision is discussed, and a clear picture of the project scope is established.
2
PROPOSAL REVIEW
A detailed proposal outlining scope, timeline, and fees is prepared and reviewed together so you know exactly what to expect before anything begins.
3
What’s Included
ONBOARDING
Every project kicks off with an onboarding questionnaire to better understand how you live in your space, your aesthetic preferences, and any must-haves or must-avoids.
SPACE PLANNING
Custom 2D floor plans and elevation drawings establish a proposed furnishings layout that complements how you live and maximizes the potential of each space.
DESIGN DIRECTION
Using your completed questionnaire and site visit findings, concept boards are developed for each space to establish the overall aesthetic, color palette, and material direction.
FURNITURE SELECTIONS
Every piece is curated specific to your space, style, and budget, selected from our trade network and beyond to find the right fit for each space.
SOURCING & PROCUREMENT
All ordering, inventory tracking, damage inspection, and returns are handled on your behalf. Items are received and inspected at our warehouse before install day.
INSTALLATION & STYLING
Every install is supervised alongside a professional white glove delivery team. Accessories, art, planters, and plants are placed, packaging is removed, and you walk into a fully finished space.

Frequently Asked Questions
We believe design should feel effortless — and so should finding information. Every home, and every project, begins with questions. Here are a few we are asked most often.
For more in-depth answers about our process, timelines, and more, visit our FAQ & Resources page.
-
A landscape designer focuses on the land itself: grading, planting, hardscape, irrigation, and the structural elements of your outdoor space.
We focus on how that space is furnished and styled. Think of it the same way you would an interior room: someone builds it, and we design how it lives.
For larger projects we work alongside your landscaper or contractor so the design and the build stay aligned.
-
Yes. If you already have a landscaper or contractor you trust, we're happy to work alongside them.
Our role is to make sure the design intent is clear and that nothing gets lost between the vision and the build. Having a designer and a contractor working in tandem from the start tends to make the whole process smoother for everyone.
-
Yes. Outdoor lighting is one of the details that makes the biggest difference in how a space feels after dark.
We can select and source fixtures across the full range of outdoor lighting including string lights, lanterns, sconces, chandeliers, and more architectural options, all specified to the appropriate wet or damp rating for your space.
For any hardwired fixtures we coordinate with your electrician or contractor to make sure placement and installation align with the design.
-
Yes. Outdoor furniture needs to be built for the elements, which means materials, fabrics, and finishes all have to be specified for exterior use.
We source from vendors who specialize in outdoor furnishings, which gives you access to pieces that are both well made and weather appropriate for the Pacific Northwest climate. The same full service sourcing and procurement process applies as it does for any interior project.
-
Similar to an interior furnishing project, timeline depends on the size and scope of your space.
A single outdoor seating or dining area typically takes two to three months from concept to install. Larger multi-zone spaces can take longer depending on lead times on furniture and materials.
Starting early in the year gives you the best chance of having your space ready for the warmer months.

We don't currently offer outdoor kitchen design as a standalone service, but if you're working with a contractor to build one we can absolutely help design the surrounding dining and lounge areas to pull the whole space together.
